6  “Make una make sure say una no de do good things for front of people just because una want make them see una. If una do like that, una no go get any blessing from una Papa wey dey heaven.  So when you want give gifts to help poor people,* make you no first blow trumpet just as people wey de pretend de do for synagogues and for streets, so that people go de praise them. True-true, I de tell una say, na all the gain wey them go get be that.  But when you want give gifts to help poor people, make you no let your left hand know wetin your right hand de do,  so that the gift wey you de give poor people go dey secret. Then your Papa wey de see things wey people de do for secret go pay you back.  “And when una de pray, make una no do like people wey de pretend, because when them de pray, them de like to stand for synagogues and for the corner of streets wey plenty people de pass so that people go see them. True-true, I de tell una say na all the gain wey them go get be that.  But when you want pray, go inside your room, and after you don close your door, pray to your Papa wey dey heaven.* Then your Papa wey de see things wey people de do for secret go pay you back.  When una de pray, make una no de repeat the same words again and again, as people wey no know God* de do. Because them de think say na when them talk plenty words, na im God go hear their prayer.  So make una no be like them, because una Papa know wetin una need even before una pray to-am.  “So, make una de pray like this: “‘Our Papa wey dey heaven, make your name dey holy.* 10  Make your Kingdom come. Make wetin you want happen for this earth as e dey for heaven. 11  Give us our bread for today, 12  and forgive us wetin we de owe you,* as we don forgive people wey de owe us.* 13  And make you no allow us fall for temptation,* but save us from the wicked person.’ 14  “Because if una forgive people their sin, una Papa for heaven go forgive una too. 15  But if una no forgive people their sin, una Papa no go forgive una sin too. 16  “When una de fast, make una stop to de squeeze face like people wey de pretend de do, because them no de even care for their face, so that people go see-am say them de fast. True-true, I de tell una say na all the gain wey them go get be that. 17  But when you de fast, use oil rub your head and wash your face, 18  so that people no go see say you de fast, but na only your Papa wey dey heaven* go see-am. Then your Papa wey de see things wey people de do for secret go pay you back. 19  “Make una stop to gather better-better things for unaself for this earth, where insect and rust fit spoil them, and where thief fit enter and carry them. 20  Instead, make una gather better-better things for unaself for heaven, where insect and rust no fit spoil them, and where thief no fit enter and carry them. 21  Because na where your better-better things dey, na there your heart go dey too. 22  “The lamp for the body na the eye. So, if your eye de look one place,* all your body go bright.* 23  But if your eye de look different-different place,* all your body go dark. True-true, if the light wey dey inside you na darkness, then the darkness dark no be small! 24  “Nobody fit be slave for two oga, because if e hate one, e go love the other one. Or if e serve one with all im heart, e no go respect the other one. Una no fit be slave for God and for Money. 25  “Because of this one, I de tell una say: Make una stop to overworry about una life,* about wetin una go chop or wetin una go drink, or about wetin una go wear for una body. Life* no dey important pass food? And body no dey important pass cloth? 26  Make una look the birds well, them no de plant seed or harvest or gather things wey them harvest put for store. Still, una Papa for heaven de give them food. Una no get value pass them? 27  Who among una fit add small time* join im life because e de overworry? 28  And why una de overworry about wetin una go wear? Make una learn from how flowers for bush de grow. Them no de work and them no de sew cloth, 29  but I de tell una say even with all the fine-fine things wey Sol′o·mon get, e no dress reach any of this flowers. 30  Now, if God de make the flower for bush fine like this, wey e be say e go dey today, and tomorrow e go dry and them go throw-am for fire, una no think say na una e go even help more to get cloth, una wey get small faith? 31  So make una no de overworry and de talk say, ‘Wetin we go chop?’ or, ‘Wetin we go drink?’ or, ‘Wetin we go wear?’ 32  Because na all this things the people of the world de really struggle to get. Una Papa for heaven know say una need all this things. 33  “So make una continue to put the Kingdom, and the correct things for God eye as the number one thing for una life, then e go add all this other things for una. 34  So make una no de overworry about tomorrow, because tomorrow still get things to worry about. Every day get im own trouble.
