Revelation 1:1-20
1 This na the things wey Jesus Christ reveal, wey God give-am, so that e go show im slaves the things wey must happen soon. And e send im angel wey use signs show them to im slave John,
2 wey talk about everything wey e see, wey be, wetin God talk and the message wey come from Jesus Christ.
3 The person wey de read the things wey them write for this prophecy come out, and the people wey de hear and de do the things wey them write inside go happy, because the time wey God fix don near.
4 Me, John, de write to the seven congregations wey dey for the area of Asia:
Make una get special favor and peace from “the Person wey dey, and wey be don dey, and wey de come,” and from the seven spirits wey dey for front of im throne,
5 and from Jesus Christ, wey be “the Faithful Witness,” “the firstborn among people wey come back to life,” and “the Ruler of the kings for the earth.”
Make this person wey love us and use im own blood free us from our sins—
6 and make us be kingdom and priests to im God and Papa—yes, make e get the glory and the power forever. Amen.
7 See! E de come for the clouds, and everybody go see-am, and the people wey chuk-am and all the tribes of the earth go nack theirself de cry because of-am. Yes, this one must happen. Amen.
8 This na wetin Jehovah God talk, “Na me be the Alʹpha and the O·meʹga,* the Person wey dey and wey be don dey and wey de come, the Almighty.”
9 Me, John, wey be una brother and wey join una de suffer, de endure and wey go be king with una for God Kingdom because we de follow Jesus, be dey the island wey them de call Patʹmos, because I de talk about God and de tell people the truth about Jesus.
10 Holy spirit come carry me come the Lord day, and I hear one strong voice for my back wey be like trumpet,
11 wey talk say: “Write wetin you de see for scroll and send-am go give the seven congregations. The one for Ephʹe·sus, for Smyrʹna, for Perʹga·mum, for Thy·a·tiʹra, for Sarʹdis, for Philadelphia, and for La·o·di·ceʹa.”
12 I come turn make I fit see who de follow me talk, and when I turn, I see seven gold lampstands,
13 and for the middle of the lampstands, I see somebody wey be like son of man, wey wear cloth wey long reach down and the cloth de touch im leg, and e tie gold cloth wey be like belt around im chest.
14 Another thing be say, im head and im hair white like white wool and like snow, and im eyes be like fire wey de burn well-well,
15 and im leg de shine like pure copper wey dey inside fire, and im voice de sound like plenty water.
16 And seven stars dey im right hand and one sharp long sword wey the two sides sharp come out from im mouth, and im face be like sun wey de shine well-well.
17 When I see-am, I fall for ground near im leg like person wey don die.
E come put im right hand ontop me and talk say: “Make you no fear. Na me be the First and the Last,
18 and the one wey dey alive. I be don die, but see! I de live forever and ever, and the keys of death and Grave* dey my hand.
19 So the things wey you see, the things wey de happen now, and the things wey go happen after this things, make you write them down.
20 As for the holy secret about the seven stars wey you see for my right hand and about the seven gold lampstands: the seven stars mean the angels of the seven congregations and the seven lampstands mean the seven congregations.
