Lithini iBhayibheli?

La mavesi abonisa ngokucacile ukuthi uMariya wayengunina ‘weNdodana kaNkulunkulu,’ hhayi kaNkulunkulu ngokwakhe. Ingabe wayekhulelwe uMuntu ‘amazulu ngokwawo angakwazi ukumthwala’? (1 AmaKhosi 8:27) UMariya akakaze ayisho into enjalo. Yimfundiso kaZiqu-zintathu eye yatshala ukudideka mayelana nokuthi uMariya ungubani. Ngo-431 C.E., lapho uMkhandlu wase-Efesu uthi uMariya ungu-Theotokos (igama lesiGreki elisho “Ozala uNkulunkulu”), noma “uNina kaNkulunkulu” waphendla indlela yokukhulekelwa kukaMariya. Kwase kungamakhulu eminyaka idolobha lase-Efesu, indawo lapho lo mkhandlu wamasonto owawuhlangana kuyo, liyisikhungo sokukhulekelwa kwesithombe futhi kugujwa imikhosi kankulunkulukazi wenzalo u-Artemis.
Izici eziningi zokukhulekelwa kwesithombe sika-Artemis “owawa ezulwini,” ezinjengemikhosi yokushaya udwendwe, zangena kanjalo-ke ekukhulekelweni kukaMariya.
